Process Technology Engineer – Xycle Holding (Full-time)


**Help build the next generation of recycling technology**
As a Process Technology Engineer, you will play a key role in the further development, optimization, and scale-up of Xycle’s proprietary pyrolysis technology. You will work on improving capacity, yield, product quality, and cost efficiency while supporting the engineering of future plants.


You will join Xycle at a unique moment: our first commercial recycling plant in the Port of Rotterdam is scheduled to become operational by the end of 2026. This role offers the opportunity not only to develop technology, but also to see it operating at commercial scale and contribute directly to its continuous improvement.


What will you do?


You will be part of the Technology Team and work closely with colleagues from Operations, as well as external technology and engineering partners.


**Optimization of the commercial plant**

- Support the commissioning, start-up, and optimization of Xycle’s first commercial pyrolysis plant in Europoort, Rotterdam.
- Analyze operational performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Implement process improvements focused on safety, reliability, capacity, and efficiency.

**Process development**

- Develop and validate process improvements to further increase technology capacity.
- Improve yield and conversion efficiency of the pyrolysis process.
- Initiate and execute test programs and process studies.

**Product quality and analysis**

- Develop solutions to further enhance the quality of pyrolysis products.
- Perform and interpret analyses of feedstocks, intermediate streams, and final products.
- Translate analytical results into practical process optimization initiatives.

**Support of future projects**

- Develop and maintain process design documentation for future plants.
- Support the preparation of engineering packages, including process descriptions, mass and energy balances, and design criteria.
- Contribute to the standardization and scale-up of the technology for future facilities.

**Key Responsibilities**

- Monitor and analyze process performance.
- Perform process calculations and data analysis.
- Design, coordinate, and evaluate experiments and pilot trials.
- Collaborate with engineering partners on design and optimization projects.
- Report findings and recommendations to management and project teams.
- Support commissioning, start-up, and troubleshooting activities.

Who are you?


**Education**
Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.


**Knowledge And Experience**

- Knowledge of process engineering and industrial processing facilities.
- Experience with process optimization, data analysis, and/or technology development.
- Knowledge of pyrolysis technology is a strong advantage.
- Experience with thermal conversion processes, recycling technologies, or petrochemical processes is beneficial.
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken.
