Stillingsbeskrivelse

**Design has been part of Huma's identity and differentiator since day 1. We're looking for someone to carry that forward as our new product designer.**

Huma is the HR system for everyone, not just the HR managers. We're 35+ people across Norway, Sweden and Finland, serving Nordic companies who'd rather run HR well to let them spend more time on people rather than, well, admin work … An approach we dare to say has been very successful with 1000+ customers (and by far the fastest growing HR tech company in Norway).

You would join the Crafters team - product dev team consisting of 14 highly motivated builders used to working with a designer rather than around one, and a product with endless possibilities!

**Why now is an interesting time to take this seat**

You would join as we have completed some of the heavy lifting of transitioning how we work to become even more user-centric (while significantly reducing the feedback loops), and be an integral part in designing our new secret product (…).

AI (yes, the elephant in the room) has changed how we build products and the capabilities that lie in the hands of developers, product folks and designers. We don't think that makes design less valuable; quite the opposite - TRULY understanding the customer, framing the right problem, and knowing if a solution actually works is more important than ever! To allow rapid product development, we have spent significant energy building up a pretty effective toolbox allowing you to quicker identify/iterate/kill/launch new stuff with confidence. Oh, and it goes without saying, we don't want Huma to feel like a product of Claude-Design, so a good eye for great design is key!

**What you'd actually do**

- **Talk to customers and users.**
Seems simple and obvious, but talking and validating with actual users is an expensive step to skip
- **Frame problems before solving them.**
Some weeks the most valuable thing you'll do is tell us the problem we agreed on is the wrong one.
- **Hammer out assumptions and get answers.**
Prototype by sketching, clickable flow, or a working thing you built yourself to quickly get answers & remove assumptions.
- **Ship with engineers, not to them.**
Product, Design, Devs and QA work closely together, each with their own (important) point of view. Together we make greatness!
- **Understand how each piece fits into the full picture.**
Our product has gone from a single feature to an HR-platform, and to keep it feeling like Huma (simple and fun) it's integral to know how each new capability could improve the overall experience.
- **Shape how we work.**
We'd expect it to look different in six months, and we'd expect you to be one of the reasons!

**What we're looking for**

- **You've owned real product design end to end**
. From discovery through successful release. How you got there matters more than how long it took you!
- **You go to the source.**
You've run your own research, sat through the uncomfortable interviews, and changed your mind because of what you heard.
- **You understand the importance and limitation of data.**
We are data-centric, but realize a dose of gut feel, creativity and daring to think differently is just as important.
- **You have a strong visual understanding.**
A good eye for structure, hierarchy, and aesthetics, and know how to make complex concepts simple.
- **You've already changed how you work because of AI**
and you have opinions, including about where it's overrated, maybe even some thoughts on where you believe it's headed?
- **You're comfortable driving design.**
You’ll be the dedicated design lead, working closely with design-literate PMs and engineers to spar, test ideas and raise the bar.

You do
**not**
need HR experience. Almost nobody arrives with it (we started Huma without ANY HR experience). Curiosity and ability to really understand the problem is much more important.

**What we offer**

- Competitive salary, benefits, and potential ownership in Huma
- A product where design decisions actually reach customers (FAST!)
- A scale-up backed by leading Nordic investors, past the chaotic-start phase, but with just as much speed
- Flexibility, and a team that would rather solve a real problem than look busy

**Culture**

We're built on trust, challenging each other, and having fun while we do it. We're an international team and English is our working language. Every quarter we get together for
**T-time**
to celebrate the milestones. You’ll get access to our new penthouse office space, including a canteen and a new gym.

We're not looking for someone who knows everything already - motivation and curiosity beat credentials here.

**Sounds like you?**

Skip the cover letter. Send us
**your CV, something you've worked on, and a short answer to one question instead:**

**What has changed about how you design in the last twelve months, and what convinced you to change it?**

A paragraph is plenty. We want the reasoning, not the polish!

*(You're welcome to apply in English, Norwegian or Swedish.)*
