**Responsibilities**
- Oversee, forecast, and report on ongoing well construction costs within assigned assets.
- Support and challenge budget executors through cost reviews, accrual preparation, and variance analysis.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates (DCE/AFE) and report final well costs.
- Collaborate closely with drilling teams, alliance partners, and vendors to provide Value of Work Done (VOWD) estimates.
- Facilitate regular cost reviews with budget owners and communicate the overall cost picture.
- Prepare final well cost summaries for after-action reviews and scorecards.
- Verify purchase requisitions and cost transactions, executing reposting as required.
- Calculate, monitor, and allocate rig intake and other common costs.
- Contribute to business plans, joint venture reports, and support partner audits.
Required expertise
- Proven experience in cost control, preferably within drilling and well (D&W) operations.
- Proficiency with financial systems and tools such as SAP, data warehouses, Power BI, and forecasting applications.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations for the energy sector, including Joint Operating Agreements (JOA).
- Understanding of 'Value of Work Done' principles and activity-based forecasting.
- Ability to integrate with budget managers and effectively communicate cost data and variances.
- Familiarity with key business management system processes related to cost control.
- Awareness of market trends that could impact project costs, such as steel prices and foreign exchange rates.
