**Purpose**
The Director of Engineering is responsible for leading and scaling Maritech’s engineering organization. This role ensures that teams deliver high-quality, secure, and scalable technology solutions aligned with business strategy. The Director of Engineering fosters a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence, while developing strong engineering leaders and building a world-class technology organization.
**Primary Activities**
- Lead and scale the engineering organization to meet current and future business needs.
- Translate the company’s technology strategy into actionable engineering execution.
- Establish and maintain best practices in software development, architecture, quality, and security.
- Partner with Product leadership to align engineering priorities with customer and business outcomes.
- Build, mentor, and retain high-performing engineering teams and leaders.
- Drive operational excellence, including delivery predictability, performance, and cost efficiency.
- Represent Engineering in executive discussions and cross-functional initiatives.
- Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and accountability.

**Experience and Competence Requirements**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 12+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5+ years in senior engineering leadership roles.
- Demonstrated success in scaling engineering organizations and managing multiple teams.
- Strong understanding of modern software development practices, cloud platforms, and enterprise architecture.
- Proven track record of delivering large-scale, high-quality technology solutions.
