**Senior Geological Advisor Exploration**

On behalf of a client we are seeking a Senior Geological Advisor Exploration

Duration: ASAP - End of 2026

Location: Stavanger

**RESPONSIBILITIES & WORK TASKS:**

- Responsible for, initiate, conduct, follow-up, drive forward and oversee geological special studies and projects when requested.
- Responsible for new prospectivity to database. Demonstrate creativity and use initiative to develop prospectivity in both licenses and open acreage (APA). Dig Deeper and consider utilizing all available data to explore in all projects. Consider alternative views and models and remain open minded to new concepts and plays
- Prioritise geological work/studies to secure timely deliverables according to strategy and goals. Focus on most important activities to secure confident decisions.
- Responsible for, initiate, drive forward & oversee geological interpretations, evaluations and activities (e.g plan and drilling wells) for operated and non-operated licences. Assure that all licence activities are compliance with approved work programmes and budgets. Secure that internal peer assists and reviews are conducted for all licence decisions. Ensure good communication with license partners. Ensure that executes “see to duties” as licence partner.
- Responsible for, initiate, drive forward & oversee geological interpretations for Business Development projects upon request. Focus on high-grading off the exploration portfolio by identifying suitable swap candidates and farm-down or farm-out candidates
- Contributor to peer assist and peer review process upon request. Be prepared and supportive. Expected to raise questions, share knowledge and considerations, and have opinions about the work performed. Follow up on technical tasks if needed.
- Ensure that projects are documented upon completion and that interpretation and knowledge is transferred to the Studio database or other applicable data stores. Capture company data in a structured way to ensures that strengthens its exploration knowledge for future decisions and projects.

**EDUCATION:**

- Master’s degree in geophysics or related field, or equivalent education
- Proficiency in Geology/Geophysics

**EXPERIENCE:**

- Minimum 20 years of relevant work experience
- Extensive experience and expertise in geology
- Broad experience in project management

Key Technical Competencies:

Excellent G&G knowledge and subject matter expert in some of the topics below

- Sedimentology
- Sequence stratigraphy
- Structural geology
- Petroleum basin evaluation/analysis/modelling
- Clastic and fractured carbonate reservoirs
- Hydrocarbon volume calculation & risk assessment
- General knowledge in several of the topics below
- Seismic interpretation
- Well planning & drilling
- Petrophysics
- Reservoir modelling
- Hydrocarbon exploration, appraisal, development and production

**PERSONAL QUALITIES:**

- Proactive and independent executor and initiator
- Capable of identifying opportunities for improvement and streamlining work processes within and across BU’s
- Ability to have a holistic view of activities and provide support to ensure that projects are completed in the best possible way
- Good communication and collaboration skills
