**Responsibilities**
- Process monthly payroll for all Norway employees
- Ensure employees are paid accurately and on time while ensuring all legal compliances are met
- Ensure payroll, tax and social security payment commitments are met at all times
- Maintain and supervise the maintenance of payroll relevant employee master data
- Work closely with SAP Support to ensure the SAP payroll system is updated at all times
- Coordinate and support various projects as requested, including SAP system enhancements and upgrades, enhancement fixes and regulatory updates
- Ensure pension basis is correct and reported to relevant parties
- Responsible for governmental reporting such as bi-monthly payroll tax and employers contributions.
- Responsible for implementation of annual salary/pension adjustments and bonus and stock program
- Assist HR staff with payroll and tax related questions and provide training and development as needed
- Work closely with the HR Business Partners to integrate data flow between HR and Payroll
- Respond to payroll related questions escalated from HR Connections
- Partner with Accounting and Finance to ensure accurate and timely coordination of data transfer and reporting of payroll information
- Identify and drive process improvement initiatives
- Ensure SOX compliance for payroll processes
- Ensure compliance with company's compensation and benefit policies and procedures
- Ensure adequate internal controls exist and are followed to minimize payroll related risk
- Identify and suggest improvements of routines and solutions through collaboration with relevant stakeholders in HR
- Work closely with the HR team to provide information and training related to payroll processes and ensure optimal data flow between HR and Payroll
Required expertise
- Bachelor or Masters Degree in relevant discipline (e.g. HR, Finance, Economics etc.)
- Commitment to continuous improvement
- Knowledge and understanding of finance processes
- Professional and ability to handle confidential employee and company information
- 5-10 years of experience directly related to Norway payroll activities.
- Lack of payroll experience can be compensated by strong background and competencies within related activities.
- In-depth knowledge of Norwegian payroll
- Ability to establish priorities and plan ahead in order to meet strict deadlines
- Acts independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Gains trust and respect within HR and with external stakeholders
- Analytical with strong problem solving skills
- High customer focus
- Broad knowledge of HR processes and how they integrate with payroll
- Strong computer skills including (but not limited to) SAP and Microsoft Office
- Communicate effectively in both English and Norwegian, both verbally and written
- Ability to proactively research and resolve issues related to payroll processes
- Well organized and detail oriented
- Understands costs implications of decisions made
